Delete your account

You can delete your Split Bill account, and the personal data attached to it, at any time. The fastest way is in the app; if you no longer have it installed, email us and we'll do it for you.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Split Bill and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll to Delete account.
  3. Confirm on the Delete your account? prompt.

Deletion happens immediately and can't be undone. You'll be signed out once it completes. Signing in again with the same Apple or Google account creates a brand-new, empty account rather than restoring the old one.

Request deletion by email

If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, email privacy@splitbill.app from the email address attached to your Apple or Google sign-in, with the subject Delete my account.

We use that address to confirm the request is yours, then delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm. We can't act on a request sent from an address that isn't linked to an account.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile — display name, email address, profile picture, and friend code.
  • Your sign-in identity with us, so Apple or Google can no longer be used to reach the account.
  • Your friend connections, pending invites, and any guests you created.
  • Bills that involved no other account holder, including their items and amounts.
  • Your remaining free scan credits.
  • The link between your analytics events and your account, which is reset so events are no longer tied to you.

Anything you split without signing in never left your device, and disappears when you delete those splits or uninstall the app.

What stays, and why

  • Bills you shared with friendsremain visible to those friends, because they're part of your friends' own records of who owed what. Your name is removed and replaced with "Deleted user."
  • Purchase recordsheld by Apple, Google Play, and our payments provider RevenueCat are kept under their own retention policies — we don't control them, and they exist for billing and tax reasons.

Premium subscriptions

Deleting your account does notcancel an active Premium subscription. Cancel it first in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or you'll keep being billed after the account is gone.
